Introducing... our preview series

In the wonderful world of showbiz, previews are a time-honoured tradition. They allow rehearsed content to be performed in earnest (with some nominal level of peril!) before a fresh-eyed audience.

In the theatre, a preview allows the creative director to test the proverbial waters. To see how the audience reacts to the show in its entirety and make editorial decisions based upon the gasps, laughs and yawn-preceding drooping eyelids.

For a stand-up comedian, a preview allows them to refine their comedic material. To polish off the timing of their material, to maximise the punchiness of their punchlines, and streamline the content into one compact set.

While not contained to a set stage nor requiring so strict a script, walking tours have an equivalent creative process. Guides craft a narrative then practise the core content, rehearsing, testing and improving what they want to convey to ensure that it effectively communicates and engages the audience with the heart of an argument, idea or story.

At Epoch Walking Tours we have thus introduced preview tours as a way for us to test our tours, whilst allowing you to see the full-length motion picture, i.e. me waving my arms around a bit and talking about some interesting stuff, for a very VERY reasonable price.

So, for the cost of little more than a coffee (specifically £5), you can spend 2ish hours learning and shifting your perspective on a range of interesting subjects with the wonderful city of London as the generally delightful backdrop. So, polish off a fiver (or virtual equivalent) and book your tour (available for an exclusive time only): LINK.
